Zero no Tsukaima is a story that revolves around Louise de La Valliere, a novice mage, who is a student at the academy of magic in the kingdom of Trysting. Since Louise can't use magic very well and all her attempts at spell casting resulted disaster, she is hence nicknamed Zero Louise. In this academy of magic, every mage is required to perform a spell to summon a familiar to to be their life long companions. Louise having very little or no magical abilities ended up summoning a human named Saito. At first both of them despised each other. Lousie being a jealous, strict, and an overpowering master and Saito, a familiar who is treated more like a dog and always has eyes for beautiful and sexy women. As the story progresses both of them gradually understood their roles and ended up being protectors of the kingdom of Trysting.
