How to draw Chibi

The Japanese word chibi means short or midget. This word is offensive if directed to a person but this is different. They are small size characters mostly taken from their original media counterparts i.e. naruto characters, bleach characters or any well known anime series or movie. They are short or child-like versions of the original character. They usually appear very cute to a lot of people and since almost everyone I know has asked me to draw them their very own chibi character I decided to create this tutorial.
I drew my this one using flash but if you want to draw it by hand that's perfectly fine. For those of you who want to follow the drawing tutorial using flash, I'll try to explain everything with as much detail as I can.
Note: I can't say I'm good at what I do nor I can say that you'll become experts after finishing this tutorial. How good the chibis I draw are entirely yours to decide. I would just like to emphasize that I'm no expert and all I can offer is to the extent of my skills.
How to draw a chibi head using flash
Step 1. The first thing we do when drawing a chibi head is to start with making a big circle. The head here is facing slightly left. Make two other circles inside the big one for the eyes and two long and short lines for the mouth. Using the flash selection tool or the black arrow tool, curve the short line just a little bit. After the curve, connect the two end points of the short line to the long one. Using the selection tool again, grab the middle of the short line and drag it to form the mouth.
If you want to make this by hand just skip the curving techniques tutorial for flash.
Step 2. This step here is a bit tricky since you have to curve the left face in just the right form and to do this you'll use again the selection tool and press and hold the ALT key and hover your selection tool to the curve just next to the eyes. You'll notice that the selection tool has changed from a curve line to a 90 degree angle. Click and hold it while dragging it inside the left eye. Click the lines inside the eye and erase it. Try adjusting the curves to make it look just like the image below. Draw a new circle inside the chibi's eyes to create the cornea and make three other circle inside it. see image below.
Step 3. Fill the center circle and the upper part of the cornea with black. If you're having a hard time doing this try changing the gap size option for the fill tool found below the flash tool bar. Draw lines inside the chibi's eyes and fill it again with black just like the second image below. With the third image you'll see two lines for each eye then it is filled with dark gray. the last remaining space is then filled with a lighter color of gray.
